#18- Set Your Goals: The Last American Virgin

“The Last American Virgin” was unfortunately one of the few songs I really liked off of Burning At Both Ends. Not to say that this was a bad album, but based upon Set Your Goals first two full length albums, Mutiny and This Will Be The Death Of Us, this was a rather weak release. “The Last American Virgin” possessed the elements that I loved about their music before Burning At Both Ends came out; it had just the right amount of edge and pop with good alternating vocals between Jordan and Matt. Lyrically it was a well written song, they do a good job of writing about relationships without being corny or forcing lyrics to rhyme.

While this album didn’t quite live up to the high expectations I had for it, I at least found a couple of really good songs to rock out to. Every band has a mediocre album in their discography so I believe that their next album will be better.
